
Golfers Climb into Third Place Tie in Las Vegas

For the second straight day the Bruins posted a team score of 299 (+11) and were tied with Alabama at 598 (+22). Host UNLV continued to lead the field at 592 (+16) followed by Stanford at 594 (+18). Oklahoma State, which began the day in second place, fell to fifth at 601 (+25).
Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Jonathan Garrick was two strokes off the lead at 145 (+1), despite posting a two-over par score of 74 (+2) on Saturday. Senior Anton Arboleda was tied for 22nd at 150 (+6), following his round of 75 (+3), and sophomore Lorens Chan was tied for 24th at 151 (+7) after carding a 77 (+5). Junior Matt Pinizzotto had the Bruins' best score – a one-over par 73 – and was tied for 27th at 152 (+8). Junior Jay Hwang was tied for 55th at 158 (+14) after signing for a 78 (+6).
Stanford's Patrick Rodgers was the 36-hole leader at 143 (-1) after firing a 69 (-3), the only subpar score in the second round.
