UCLA began the day by wrapping up the doubles point with two quick wins. After 58th-ranked Marcos Giron and Karue Sell cruised to an 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles, the Bruins claimed the point at court No. 2, where Joseph Di Giulio and Michael Guzman downed Alexandre Miaule and Horea Porutiu, 8-3.
The Bruins were equally as dominant in singles, registering four straight-set wins to take the match 5-0. Victories by Giron and Sell set the stage for Ryoto Tachi to clinch the win, as he downed Kona Luu, 6-0, 6-3 at court No. 4 to give UCLA a 4-0 lead. With the match already decided, the Bruins tacked on another victory when Gage Brymer downed Rajeev Herekar at court No. 2.
Friday's Pac-12 showdown between UCLA and USC is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at USC's Marks Tennis Stadium. Singles will begin at 12:00 p.m. The Pac-12 Networks will be airing the singles portion of the match live.
