FREEPORT, Bahamas -- Madison Cable scored 22 points and Marina Mabrey added 18 to help No. 3 Notre Dame beat UCLA 92-84 in overtime in the Junkanoo Jam championship game on Saturday afternoon at St. Georges High School gym.

Cable, who earned MVP honors, also had nine rebounds, and Lindsay Allen added 15 points for the Irish (6-0).

Notre Dame jumped out to a 24-13 lead after the first quarter and held a 10-point halftime lead before the Bruins rallied in the second half to tie it and send it to overtime. The Irish outscored the Bruins 16-8 in the extra session and 31-17 from the free throw line for the game.

UCLA won three of the four quarters in regulation, but the slow start couple with the foul trouble were too much to overcome. UCLA had five players foul out as Notre Dame enjoyed a 46-26 advantage in attempts at the charity stripe.

"I love the fight in this team and the grit that they showed, fighting through the foul trouble to get the game into overtime," UCLA Head Coach Cori Close said. "We have shown we are a Top 20 team in the country. We have now played the No. 2 and the No. 3 team in country to a one possession game. We have proven that we are one of the elite teams in the nation. There is a small gap between good and great and that's what these two losses are going to teach us. We will learn from it and will be there in March."

Sophomore Monique Billings, who was named to the All-Tournament team, scored a career-high 18 points and completed her second career double-double with 13 rebounds for the Bruins (3-2).

Senior Nirra Fields added 18 points, six rebounds and four steals before fouling out, while freshman Kennedy Burke had a season-high 16 points to go with five rebounds. Sophomore Jordin Canada, who tied the game at 76-76 with :04.3 left in regulation, fouled out of the game finishing with 12 points and eight assists. Senior Kacy Swain also fouled out and was one of five Bruins in double figures, recording 10 points to go with seven rebounds.

The Bruins outrebounded Notre Dame 42-40 and outshot the Fighting Irish 47.1 percent (32-for-68) from the field to 41.3 percent (26-for-63).
