
Bruins Finish Ninth in The Prestige at PGA West

The Bruins posted a team score of 284 (-4) in the final round and climbed one spot to 859 (-5). Arizona State won the event with a 54-hole team score of 30-under par 833. Stanford staged a late rally, torching the Nicklaus Championship Course in 20-under par 268 on the final day, only to fall three shots short and claim the runner-up position at 837 (-27). San Diego State took third at 841 (-23), followed by Oklahoma State and LSU in a fourth-place tie at 846 (-18).
Senior Manav Shah led the Bruins in the final round, firing a 5-under par score of 67 that featured seven birdies and two bogeys. Shah tied for 14th place at 6-under par 210. Junior Jake Knapp was the only other Bruin under par, tying for 21st at 213 (-3). Knapp posted a final round score of 69 (-3), highlighted by five birdies and two bogeys. Both Shah and Knapp climbed 10 spots up the leader board on Wednesday.
Rounding out the Bruins' fivesome, senior Preston Valder tied for 33rd at 2-over par 218 after posting a 75 (+3). Junior Lorens Chan carded a score of 73 (+1) and tied for 37th at 219 (+3), and senior Matt Pinizzotto placed 65th at 226 (+10).
Senior Jay Hwang, playing as an individual, tied for 37th at 219 (+3) following a round of 76 (+4).
Stanford's Maverick McNealy was the tournament medalist, firing a final round 64 (-8) to finish at 15-under par 201.
