
Bruins Remain in a 12th Place Tie

The Bruins recorded a team score of 4-under par 284 and were tied with Texas Tech. Washington overtook USC for first place. The Huskies (546, -30) posted a team score of 269 (-19) and led the Trojans (549, -27) by three shots. Auburn was third at 22-under 554, followed by fourth-place Arizona State at 555 (-21). Oregon was in fifth place at 19-under 557.
Junior Lorens Chan was the Bruins' low player on Friday, posting a 2-under par 70. He was tied for 39th place at 2-under par 142. Senior Manav Shah recorded a 71 (-1) and was tied for 12th at 138 (-6). Senior Jay Hwang was tied for 48th at 1-under 143 after posting a 71 (-1). Junior Jonathan Garrick signed for his second straight even par 72 and was tied for 53rd at 144 (E). Freshman Brandon Mai improved with a 75 (+3) and was 96th at 152 (+8).
Washington's Cheng-Tsung Pan fired his second straight 65 (-7) and led the field at 14-under 130.
At the Farmer's Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, junior Jake Knapp, playing as an amateur, missed the 36-hole cut with a score of 145 (+1).
