Bruins Tie for 10th Place in Hawai'i

The fourth-ranked UCLA men's golf team finished in a tie for 10th place at the 24th annual Amer Ari Invitational in Kono, HI.

The Bruins posted one of their best scores of the season – a 14-under par round of 274 – on the final day and managed to move up two spots. UCLA finished at 23-under par 841 along with Stanford. Arizona State won the event with a score of 826 (-38), followed by Washington at 828 (-36) and third place USC and Oregon at 829 (-35). TCU finished sixth at 832 (-32) following the day's lowest round – 268 (-20).

Junior Jonathan Garrick led the Bruins on the final day, firing a final round 65 (-7) and vaulting 30 spots up the leader board. Garrick enjoyed a bogey-free round that featured five birdies and an eagle on the par 5 second hole. He tied for 23rd at 209 (-7). Senior Manav Shah tied for 14th place at 207 (-9) after posting a 69 (-3) on Saturday. His round featured three birdies, an eagle and a pair of bogeys. Junior Lorens Chan and freshman Brandon Mai both shot two-under par scores of 70. Chan tied for 29th at 212 (-4) and Mai tied for 81st at 222 (+6). Senior Jay Hwang had the drop score of one-under par 71. He tied for 50th at 214 (-2).

Washington's Cheng-Tsung Pan won the tournament with a three-round total of 199 (-17) following his round of 69 (-3) on Saturday.
