PRINCETON, N.J.ย --ย The top-ranked UCLA Bruins improved to 8-0 on the year with an 18-9ย victory at No. 11 Princeton in the third game of the Princeton Invitationalย on Sunday morningย at Denunzio Pool. The victory, seen on ESPNU, marked UCLA's 41st-straight win,ย which extends the second-longest winning streak in school history. The all-time record is 50, which was established from 1964-68.
Senior Patrick Fellner led all scorers with four goals including a hat trick in the third quarter.ย Junior Aleksandar Ruzic played the entire gameย in the cage for the Bruins, registering a career-high-tying eightย saves.

Junior Matt Farmer opened the scoring at the 4:04 mark of the first period with a goal at set off a nice feed from senior Ryder Roberts. Junior Jack Grover made it 2-0 with a goal from two meters (3:27). Junior Alex Roelse put UCLA up 3-0 with a goal from the front court (2:37). Senior Chancellor Ramirez then made it 4-0 with a high corner shot near post (1:52). Senior Alec Zwaneveld ended the scoring in the first period with a goal at set off a pass from Grover (0:03) to give UCLA a 5-0 lead at the end of one.
Roberts opened the scoring in the second period with a penalty shot conversion to make it 6-0 (4:52). after a score from Princeton's Matt Payne, Sophomore Austin Rone fired a shot in at near post (3:25) and the Bruins pushed theย lead to 7-1. Thenย Fellner was the eighth different Bruin in a row to score, makingย it 8-1 with a power play goalย (2:33). Jovan Jeremic scored for Princeton with three seconds remaining to end the scoring in the second with the Bruins taking an 8-2 lead into the break.
The Bruins dominated the third period, 8-2, scoring a season-high for a quarter. Roberts opened the scoring in the second half with a power play strike (7:20) to put UCLA up 9-2. After another goal from Jeremic (7:02), the Bruins reeled off five unanswered goals. Fellner scored back-to-back goals (6:23 and 6:01) to complete his hat trick. Then Zwaneveld added his second from two meters (5:27) and Grover netted his second (4:09) to give UCLA a 10-goal advantage at 13-3. Payne then scored his second for Princeton (3:37) to cut it to 13-4. But freshman James Vlachonassios powered in a shot from the front court to push the lead back to 10 (3:11). Fellner scored his fourth on a power play (2:10) and senior Joey Fuentes scored his first of the game (0:38) to end the scoring in the third with the Bruins holding a commanding 16-4 lead.
The Tigers opened the fourth with three straight goals, before freshman Jake Simpson made a bar-in shot (5:22) to extend the lead to 10 again at 17-7.ย After Payne completed his hat trick for the Tigers (4:39), Fuentes scored his second and the last for the Bruins (4:16) to make it 18-8. Princeton got a goal from Jordan Colina (1:49) on a drive to provide the 18-9 final.
