PRINCETON, N.J.ย --ย The top-ranked UCLA Bruins improved to 9-0 on the year with a 16-5 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn in the Bruins' final game of the Princeton Invitationalย on Sunday afternoon at Denunzio Pool. The victoryย marked UCLA's 42nd-straight win,ย which extends the second-longest winning streak in school history. The all-time record is 50, which was established from 1964-68.

Four Bruins had hat tricks against the Terriers, including seniors Ryder Roberts andย Patrick Fellner and juniors Max Irving and Matt Farmer.ย Junior Aleksandar Ruzic played the entire gameย in the cage for the Bruins, registering a career-high-tying eightย saves for the third time in his career.

The Bruins held a slight 3-2 lead at the end of the first period, receiving a power play goal from Fellner, a counter attack score from Farmer and a fonrt court strike from Roberts in the opening stanza.

UCLA won the second quarter 5-2 to take an 8-4 lead into the break. All five goals for the Bruins in the quarter came from the front court. Irving added two in the period, as did Fellner, completing his hat trick. Roberts added his second goal of the game as the Bruins scored on 5-of-9 shots in the second.

The Bruins dominated the second half, 8-1, which began with a 4-1 tally in the third period and back-to-back power play goals by Roberts and Irving, marking the completion of their hat tricks. Senior Joey Fuentes became the first Bruin not named Roberts, Irving, Farmer or Fellner to score for UCLA in the game with a goal from the front court. Sophomore Austin Rone scored the period's final goal from distance as UCLA took a 12-5 lead into the fourth.

The Tigers opened the fourth with three straight goals, before freshman Jake Simpson made a bar-in shot (5:22) to extend the lead to 10 again at 17-7.ย After Payne completed his hat trick for the Tigers (4:39), Fuentes scored his second and the last for the Bruins (4:16) to make it 18-8.
