The Bruins pitched a shutout in the second period while scoring three goals at even strength. Junior Max Irving scored back-to-back goals (4:56 and 2:59), followed by Snyder's second strike (0:05) to build an 8-1 lead at the half.

Another shutout followed in the third with UCLA pouring in six goals in the period.
