SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Sophomore Cole Madey is tied for second after 36 holes of the Lamkin San Diego Classic at the San Diego Country Club. Madey is one shot back of North Texas' Thomas Rosenmueller.
 
As a team, the Bruins are in 10th place, 10 shots back of first-place Texas. UCLA is at 4-over (580).
 
Round Two
UCLA shot a 6-over 294 in its second 18 holes on Monday. Madey is at 4-under (140) after a pair of rounds, shooting a 1-under 71 in the afternoon session. He made three birdies on #17, #4 and #8 to go with two bogeys.
 
Freshman Hidetoshi Yoshihara is tied for 11th at 2-under (142) after 36 holes. He was 1-over (73) in his second round, making birdies on #17, #2 and #3, adding four bogeys. Freshman Harrison Mahon is tied for 57th at 6-over (150), shooting a second-round 77 (+5). His lone birdie came on the fifth to go with four bogeys and a double.
 
An eagle on the seventh was the highlight of the second round for junior Tyler Collier, who shot a 4-over 76 (six bogeys). He is tied for 63rd at 7-over (151). Junior Corey Shaun is tied for 67th (+8, 152) after a second-round 74 (+2). He made birdies on #14, #17 and #8 to go with five bogeys.
 
Round One
As a team, the Bruins were tied for third after 18 holes, shooting a 2-under 286 to sit three shots back of first-place Texas.
 
Madey and Yoshihara were tied for fourth at 3-under after opening-round 69s. Starting on the 10th, Madey made five birdies on #11, #13, #14, #16 and #2 to go with two bogeys. Yoshihara had seven birdies in his first 18 holes. Opening on the ninth, he gained strokes on #11, #16, #17, #1, and then his last three holes (#6-#8), adding two bogeys and a double.
 
Mahon fired a 1-over 73 in round one, making a birdie on his last hole, #11, to go with a pair of bogeys, putting him in a tie for 32nd. Collier was tied for 51st after an opening-round 75 (+3). He made five birdies on #14, #15, #17, #1 and #4, adding six bogeys and a double. Shaun was tied for 73rd after 18 holes at 6-over (78). He birdied the 13th and 14th, while making four bogeys and two doubles.
 
The Bruins go off the 10th tee in Tuesday's final round, starting at 9:39 a.m., in the order of Shaun, Collier, Mahon, Yoshihara and Madey. Live scoring will be available here.
