LOS ANGELES, Calif.ย -- No. 2 UCLA (26-2) defeated Cal Poly (12-20) for the third time this season by a 4-1 margin at USC's Merle Norman Stadium on Saturday afternoon to extendย its school-record winning streak to 24 consecutive duals.
UCLA got the first point on the board on court four as senior Jordan Anderson and sophomoreย Izzyย Carey defeated Cal Poly's Anna Gorman and Savannah Niemen in straight sets, 21-16, 21-16.
Cal Poly tied it at 1-1 when Dora Bellin and Brayden Gruenewaldย rallied to defeat the UCLA freshman pair of Chanti Holroyd and Lily Justine, 17-21, 21-16, 15-13.
UCLA reclaimed the lead, 2-1, as Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara had little trouble with Hannah Hubbard and Emily Sonny on court one, 21-10, 21-17.
The Bruins' duo of senior Kamila Tan and Freshman Madi Yeomansย clinched the team dual victory with a straight-set win on court two over the Mustangs' Taylor Nelson and Adlee Van Winden, 21-18, 21-18.
On court three, freshman Torrey Van Winden and junior Elise Zappiaย took down Cal Poly's Holland Boege and Raeann Greisen, 22-20, 21-18.
In exhibition play, UCLA's pair of Remy Wilson and Jasmine Hogan rallied for a three-set win over CP's Taylor Gruenewald and Heather Pembroke, 19-21, 21-19, 15-11.
