LOS ANGELES -- No. 2 UCLA (12-1) posted its third-straight four-goal win over a top 10 team from the Golden Coast Conference tonight with a dominant 14-10 win over No. 3 Pacific (11-3) at Spieker Aquatics Center. The Bruins never trailed in defeating the Tigers for the 10th straight time, improving to 51-4 all-time against Pacific.

UCLA was led by junior Felix Brozyna-Vilim and sophomore Jake Cavano, who each scored a season-high four goals. Redshirt senior Alex Wolf got the start in the cage and went the distance, recording 12 saves while giving up 10 goals.

The Bruins got on the board first when junior Nicolas Saveljic set up freshman Tommy Gruwell who scored from the front court (4:11). Djordje Stanic tied the game (2:48) with a strike from the front court. Cavano scored his first of the game on a nice feed from junior Chasen Travisano on a Bruin power play (2:15) as UCLA regained the lead. But Engin Ege Colak would tie the game at 2-2 with a power play goal for Pacific (0:55). Saveljic then tallied his second assist of the game, this time setting up sophomore Ashworth Molthen, who found the back of the net at the buzzer to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead at the end of one period.

UCLA was able to get some separation from the Tigers, exploding for six goals in the second period. Cavano scored a hat trick in the quarter to put a four-spot in the scoring column. He scored the first two goals of the period from the front court (7:29 and 6:37) to push the lead to 5-2. After Matthew Hosmer cut the lead to 5-3 with a power play goal for Pacific (5:52), Cavano netted his third of the quarter from five meters out (5:40). The two teams traded goals for the rest of the quarter with UCLA getting one score from sophomore Matthew Kacura (3:38) and the first two scores of the game from Brozyna-Vilim on power plays. His second goal was the last of the quarter with 0:29 remaining, giving the Bruins a 9-6 lead at the break.

The third period was more defensive-minded with the Bruins outscoring Pacific, 2-1. Jeremie Cote scored the first goal of the period for Pacific on a power play (6:40) to trim the Bruins' lead to 9-7. That was as close as the Tigers would get as Gruwell scored his second of the game (6:08) on a power play and Kacura netted his second of the contest from two meters (4:15), the final goal of the period, to extend UCLA's lead to 11-7 heading into the fourth.

The final period was a draw with both teams scoring three goals. Brozyna-Vilim scored twice in the period from two meters (7:06 and 4:55) and then Saveljic scored his only goal of the game on a power play (3:59) as UCLA enjoyed its largest lead of the game at 14-8. Cote (3:36) and Djordje Stanic (2:57) each scored their second goals of the game for Pacific to provide the 14-10 final.

UCLA returns to action tomorrow for a double-header, beginning with No. 20 California Baptist University at 3:00 p.m. PT, followed by Whittier at 5:00 p.m. PT at Spieker Aquatics Center.
