
Bruins Place Third at Ka'anapali Classic

KA'ANAPALI, Hawaii - The 23rd-ranked Bruins posted a solid finish to their fall schedule, placing third at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational. UCLA shot a 10-under 274 on Sunday to post a 54-hole score of 35-under 817.
Sophomore Bryan Wiyang Teoh was the top UCLA finisher, tying for sixth at 11-under 202. He closed his stay at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course with a 3-under 68. Teoh made five birdies on No. 6, 9, 12, 16 and 18 and two bogeys.
Junior Devon Bling tied for 12th (-8, 205), shooting an even-par 71 on Sunday with a pair of birdies on No. 9 and 12 and two bogeys. Junior Eddy Lai tied for 18th (-7, 206), posting a 2-under 69 in the final round on four birdies (No. 1, 3, 7 and 8) and two bogeys. Senior Hidetoshi Yoshihara and sophomore Sean Maruyama both tied for 33rd (-5, 208). Yoshihara registered six birdies (No. 1, 3, 6, 7, 9 and 12) and three bogeys in a 3-under 68, while Maruyama made five birdies (No. 6, 7, 9, 12 and 17) and three bogeys in a 2-under 69. Freshman Chaz Aurilia, playing as an individual, tied for 36th (-4, 209), making four birdies on No. 6, 9, 14 and 16) and four bogeys in an even-par 71.
The Bruins resume play in 2020, taking part in the Southwestern Invitational (Jan. 27-28) at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif.
