The Bruins were led by junior Nicolas Saveljic who scored a team-high three goals. Redshirt senior Alex Wolf played the entire game in the cage, registering 12 saves while allowing 10 goals.
The Trojans jumped out to a 4-2 lead at the end of the first period. The Bruins got one power play goal each from Saveljic (1:42) and sophomore Ashworth Molthen (0:31).
USC won the second period, 2-1, to build a 6-3 lead at the break. The only Bruin goal in the period came from the front court from freshman Andy Rodgers (0:51).
Both teams clamped down in the third with each squad netting just one goal to give USC a 7-4 lead heading into the fourth. Junior Chasen Travisano scored the lone goal for UCLA on a 6-on-5 opportunity (4:33).
Each team scored three goals in the fourth quarter to provide the 10-7 final. Sophomore Jake Cavano scored from the front court (5:54) and Saveljic scored two more goals in the final five minutes (4:39 and 0:31) to complete his hat trick.
The Bruins return to action next week when they close out the regular season at No. 2 Stanford on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 12:00 p.m. PT.
