Butler Competes in 1M at USA Winter National Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. โ€“ UCLA freshman Hannah Butler placed 19th in the 1-meter preliminaries on Sunday afternoon at the 2019 USA Diving Winter National Championships at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

Butler posted a score of 189.15 over her five-dive list.

Her best dives were her third and fourth, which both netted scores above 45.00 and were top-10 for those rounds. Butler's highest score was a 48.00 on her third dive โ€“ an inward 1 ยฝ somersault pike.

Hailey Hernandez went on to win the 1M final with a combined score of 513.15, followed by Kyndal Knight (501.75) and Samantha Pickens (500.95).

UCLA swim and dive is off for the rest of the 2019 calendar year, and will resume the season on Jan. 3 with a dual meet at UC San Diego starting at 1:00 p.m. PT.ย
