SEATTLE, WASH. – Day one of the MPSF Indoor Championships saw junior Christina Rice make history, taking the victory in the 5000m with a UCLA indoor-record time of 16:12.16. Rice and Alyssa Wilson (weight throw) picked up the Bruins' two victories on the day, helping the UCLA women to 31 points and third place overall after seven events scored. The UCLA men finished the day tied for sixth with 19 points.
Rice notched her second-straight PR in the 5k en route to the indoor school record, as she was previously third on the UCLA indoor top-10 with a 16:16.85 performance in the event at the Husky Classic (Feb. 15).
