Spitz Still Tied for First With One Round to Go at Sun Devil Winter Classic

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Sophomore Emma Spitz ended day two of the Sun Devil Winter Classic in the same spot she finished day one, tied for first, as just one round remains at the Talking Stick Golf Club.
As a team, the Bruins are tied for third, posting the third-best round of the day on Tuesday with a 5-over 293. UCLA is at 11-over 587 through 36 holes.
Despite not making a birdie in her second round, Spitz was still under par. The sophomore holed out an eagle on the par-4 11th, making one bogey and 16 pars in a 1-under 71. She is at 4-under 140 after 36 holes and tied with Arizona State's Linn Grant for the top spot.
Sophomore Annabel Wilson is tied for 14th at 2-over 146 after a 2-over 74 on Tuesday. She made a pair of birdies on the par-3 13th and par-5 16th holes, adding four bogeys. Sophomore Emilie Paltrinieri is tied for 20th at 4-over 148. She shot a 3-over 75 in her second round, posting a birdie on the par-5 fifth and four bogeys.
