SOMIS, Calif. - Following a windy day at The Saticoy Club on Monday, UCLA is tied for third after 18 holes at the Bruin Wave Invitational. The Bruins (+25, 313) are only seven strokes back of the lead, held by Oregon (+18, 306).
Sophomore Emma Spitz is tied for fifth after a 2-over 74, sitting just two strokes off the lead held by a couple of Oregon players. Spitz made a birdie on the par-5 eighth hole, one bogey and one double.
Sophomore Yuki Yoshihara is tied for 16th (+6, 78), making a pair of birdies on the par-4 first and par-5 eighth holes, five bogeys and a triple.
Sophomore Emilie Paltrinieri is tied for 28th (+8, 80), posting a birdie on her final hole, the par-5 18th, seven bogeys and a double. Sophomore Annabel Wilson is tied for 38th (+9, 81), recording three birdies on the par-5 eighth, par-4 11th and par-4 17th holes, five bogeys, two doubles and a triple. Junior Phoebe Yue, playing as an individual, is tied for 48th (+10, 82), making five bogeys, a double and a triple. Junior Simar Singh is tied for 71st (+16, 88), notching a birdie on the par-4 first, four bogeys, five doubles and a triple.
The Bruins begin round two on Tuesday at 8:55 a.m. off the first tee in the order of Singh, Wilson, Paltrinieri, Yoshihara and Spitz. Yue will begin her second round at 9:06 a.m. off the 10th tee. Live scoring will be available here.
