LOS ANGELES โ Fresh off a decisive win at Washington State in the team's first dual meet of the season, the UCLA swim and dive team (1-0) returns to Spieker Aquatics Center on Fridayย to host UC Santa Barbara in its home opener.
The dual meet is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. at Spieker. No stream will be available, though live results can be viewed on the Meet Mobile app.
Admission to the meet is free of charge and open to the public.
UCLA owns a 37-1 mark all-time in dual meets against UCSB, including a 3-0 mark under fifth-year head coach Jordan Wolfrum. Most recently, UCLA claimed a 150-112 on Oct. 21 of last season in the first dual meet of that season for both teams. The Bruins won nine of 14 scheduled events in that race, sweeping the relays and freestyle events.
So far this season, the Bruins have claimed first-place finishes at the five-team Fresno State Invite and against WSU in a dual in Pullman, Wash. Junior Ana Jih-Schiff has been a UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week nominee each of the past two weeks after securing doubles at both the FSU Invite and WSU dual.
Meanwhile, UCSB is 1-0 in dual meets after downing rival Cal Poly by a score of 168.5-118.5 on Oct. 6. This is the Gauchos' second weekend in a row in the Los Angeles area, after finishing fourth in the four-team field at the USC Invitational last weekend.
