October 26, 2023 | Swimming & Diving
LOS ANGELES โ The UCLA swim and dive team returns to Spieker Aquatics Center on Friday, Oct. 27 to host future Big Ten rival Illinois in the team's final home dual meet of the 2023 calendar year.
The dual meet is set to begin at 3 p.m. at Spieker. No stream will be available, though live results can be viewed on the Meet Mobile app.
Admission to the meet is free of charge and open to the public.
It marks the Bruins (2-0) first dual against a Big Ten school since Jan. 9, 2002, when the Bruins downed Illinois by a score of 174.5-125.0. That was the first and only head-to-head meeting between the two schools prior to Friday's meet. UCLA is 4-1 all-time in dual meets against current Big Ten schools, having also faced Michigan (1-1), Ohio State (1-0), and Nebraska (1-0).
UCLA has finished first in every competition it's entered so far this season, taking dual meets over Washington State and UCSB while placing first at the five-team Fresno State Invite to open the year.
Meanwhile, Illinois enters the week with an 0-1 record in dual meets after dropping an Oct. 14 result to Kansas. The Illini are also scheduled to face off against Pepperdine on Thursday ahead of Friday's dual at Spieker.
