Dugalic got the offense started for UCLA, assisting sophomore Lauren Betts on the first basket of the game. The senior then hit a mid-range jumper before Jones scored four-consecutive points. Dugalic hit a corner three after the break, and UCLA peeled off a 23-0 run before a pair of Niagara free throws ended their scoring draught. The Bruins led 27-5 after the first.
