Bruins Have Strong Showing Across the Board at Chris Rinne Twilight

Riverside, Calif. – UCLA Track and Field competed at the Chris Rinne Twilight hosted by UC Riverside on Friday, April 21. Sixteen Bruins were in competition Friday, and UCLA finished first in five events at the meet to cap a strong showing by the track and field team.
Track Results
Both the men's and women's squads dominated the 1500m race, placing in first and second with another top-five finish to boast. Chloe Browne (1st, 4:34.16) paced the Bruins and was followed closely behind by Sophia Hoelzel (2nd, 4:35.16). Bella Browne trailed slightly behind her Bruin teammates and finished fourth after crossing in 4:38.31.
Dylan Wilbur claimed first in the men's 1500m race, running a 3:51.32 for the event's top spot. Andrew Martinez crossed in 3:54.48 for second, and Christopher Chavez placed fifth with his 4:05.77 performance.
The Bruin women had strong showings in the 5000m event, too, claiming first and second once again at the Riverside meet. Anna Weirich (17:17.90) and Claire Selleck (17:26.32) finished ahead of the rest of the field for the top two spots in the race. Carly Corsinita (17:43.87) and Kate Tugman (18:08.17) placed seventh and eighth in the event, respectively, to round out Bruin finishes in the event.
Patrick Curulla was the sole Bruin in the men's 5000m race, finishing in third after running a 15:06.75.
Jada Jones had a strong performance in the women's 100m hurdle. The graduate transfer ran a 13.60 to claim first in the event; Alexandra Chan competed in the race, finishing sixth in 14.61.
Miliana Perez placed fourth in the 800m event, running a 2:15.65.
Field Results
Aaron Kim shined in the men's high jump, clearing 2.11m (6-11) to claim first place in the event. Cheyenne Roberts (1.55m, 5-01) claimed sixth place on the women's side.
