UCLA’s only male high jumper to compete during the indoor season… Cleared an indoor-season-best 2.10m (6-10.75) at the Dr. Sander Invite, taking home third with the result… Appeared in six meets with the Bruins during the 2023 outdoor campaign… Made his outdoor debut with a fifth-place finish at the Jim Click Shootout (2.05m – 6-08.75)… Claimed first at the Chris Rinne Twilight on April 21, jumping a season-best mark of 2.11m (6-11.00) in the meet… Placed sixth in the Conference at the Pac-12 Championships with his jump of 2.06m… Finished 43rd in the west at the regional meet in Sacramento.
2022
Competed in the High Jump during his true freshman season… Recorded a season-best of 2.06m (6-09.00) at the Rafter Johnson Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational (March 26).
High School
Competed in the high jump for Palo Alto High School … Undefeated in nine high jump competitions as a senior in 2021 … Opened the season with a clearance of 6-04.00 and capped the year with a lifetime-best mark of 7-00.00 at the Central Coast Section Finals … Broke the Palo Alto school record with his 7-foot clearance … 2021 MileSplitCA CCS Boys Field Athlete of the Year … First-Team All-State honoree from MileSplitCA.

Born in Palo Alto, Calif., to parents Amy and John … Has one brother, Nathan … “The school’s outstanding athletic and academic reputations go without saying. Attending UCLA, I knew I would be constantly challenged and pushed to be my best self whether in the classroom, on the field, or out in the world.” … Says breaking the 7-foot barrier and school record to become the state leader and section champion in his final high school meet as his greatest athletic thrill … Admires professional high jumpers Mutaz Essa Barshim and Woo Sang-hyeok … Enjoys the fine arts – painting and drawing … Painted a 20-foot mural in his hometown … Aspires to become an artist.
