Denver, Colo. – No. 11 UCLA placed third in a quad meet at Denver on Sunday afternoon, scoring 196.550. No. 1 Oklahoma placed first with a national-best 198.325, No. 10 Denver was second with a 197.100, and Stanford placed fourth with a 196.100.

UCLA hit a 49.200 on beam in the first rotation, with Emma Malabuyo's 9.925 ranking as the top mark. Emily Lee provided a 9.85 in the leadoff spot, and Selena Harris and Ciena Alipio recorded scores of 9.825. The team total put the Bruins in fourth, just behind third-place Stanford, who scored 49.250 on bars. Oklahoma assumed the lead with a 49.550 on floor, while Denver earned 49.325 on vault.

The Bruins moved into a tie for second place with Denver after scoring a season-high 49.575 on floor. Malabuyo got UCLA off to a great start with a season-high 9.875, and the final four performers all scored 9.9 or higher. Harris finished tied for first in the meet with a 9.95. Nya Reed and Chae Campbell recorded season-high marks of 9.925, and Brooklyn Moors added a 9.9. Oklahoma remained in the lead after scoring 49.6 on vault, Denver scored 49.45 on bars, and Stanford slipped to fourth with a 48.475 on beam.

UCLA had five vaults score 9.8 or higher in rotation three, but only two routines scored 9.85 or higher – Campbell's 9.875 and Katelyn Rosen's 9.85. The 49.175 was enough to remain in second place, but Oklahoma pulled even further ahead after scoring 49.450 on bars.

The Bruins closed the meet on uneven bars but had struggles with low bar transitions and had to count a fall, scoring just 48.600. Malabuyo again had UCLA's top mark with a career-high 9.9, and Harris added a 9.875, Campbell a 9.825 and Rosen a 9.8. Oklahoma finished with a flourish, scoring 49.725 on beam, and Denver moved ahead of the Bruins with a 49.475 on floor.

After three consecutive weeks on the road, UCLA will host Washington in its home opener on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 6pm. Tickets are on sale now at uclabruins.com/tickets.
