Despite a strong start from Leverette and Briscoe who knocked down two kills each, Indiana raced to a 13-7 lead to prompt a UCLA timeout. The Hoosiers extended their lead to two sets with another efficient performance, hitting .464 to take the second set. The teams exchanged points early on, but a 6-1 run gave Indiana a 14-8 advantage. Leverette managed to secure a side out for the Bruins, but they were unable to mount a comeback, ultimately falling 25-18. The junior tallied six kills in the set to ascend into double-digits.
ย
Grayce Olson fueled a 4-0 run with an ace and an emphatic kill to give UCLA an early lead in the third frame. The Bruins were unable to sustain the momentum due to six service errors, allowing the Hoosiers to emerge victorious after their 25-20 win.
