
Bruins, Campos Steal The Show

LAS VEGAS – The No. 3 UCLA women's golf team won its fifth tournament of the season at The Show at Spanish Trail Country Club on Tuesday with a score of 6-under 858. The Bruins were co-champions with SMU.
Junior Zoe Antoinette Campos won her second medal in back-to-back events by a score of 7-under (68-70-71). Campos, who won by three strokes, now owns four collegiate medals which ranks tied for sixth in UCLA history.
UCLA has also won back-to-back tournaments after claiming the team title at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview on Feb. 21.
Joining Campos in the top 10 was Alessia Nobilio who tied for ninth at 1-under (71-73-71). Nobilio now has back-to-back top 10 stroke play finishes to begin the spring.
Junior Caroline Canales was clutch down the stretch in the final round. Canales, who started on hole three, birdied two of her final three holes on the par-5 18th and par-4 1st. Canales tied for 17th at 3-over for the tournament. After shooting +5 across the first two rounds, Canales rose 13 spots on the individual leader board with a 2-under 70 in round three.
Kate Villegas tied for 14th at 2-over (73-73-72). Tiffany le finished just outside the top 20, tying for 21st at 5-over (73-75-73).
UCLA's next tournament is next week, from March 11-12, at the Silicon Valley Showcase at Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, California.
