No. 1 UCLA Sends Seniors Out with Two Wins on Tuesday

LOS ANGELESย -- No. 1 UCLA (24-4) posted a pair of sweeps on Senior Day to wrap up the 2024 home slate on Tuesday. The Bruins opened with a 5-0 win over No. 7 Long Beach State in the late morning dual and then beat CSUN, 5-0, in the afternoon at Mapes Beach. It marked the 15th-consecutive win for the Bruins, who improved their all-time record to 12-4 against the Beach with their 12th-straight win in the series. The Bruins also improved to 5-0 all-time against the Matadors, winning the first meeting against CSUN since 2016.
Junior Natalie Myszkowski and redshirt freshman Ensley Alden clinched the Bruins' win over the Beach with a 21-10, 21-12 win on court five over LBSU's Haley Carrington and Emily Sparks.
Graduate student Lexy Denaburg and sophomore Maggie Boyd capped off UCLA's sweep with a 21-12, 21-15 win on court one over Julia Westby and Natalie Glenn.
Graduate student Rileigh Powers teamed up with redshirt freshman Kenzie Brower to clinch the Bruins' win over CSUN on court three with a dominant 21-4, 21-8 victory over the Matadors' Kinley Lindhardt and Julia Bazylevych.
Myszkowski and Alden clinched UCLA's sweep of the Matadors with a 21-16, 21-11 win on court five over CSUN'sย Abbey Sweetingย and Maleya Miles.

UP NEXT: The Bruins head to San Luis Obispo to take part in the Center of Effort Challenge at Cal Poly on April 12-13. UCLA will open with No. 10 LMU at 11:15 a.m. PT on Friday, April 12, followed by its third meeting of the year with No. 4 Florida State at 4:15 p.m. PT.
