Jordan Chiles (2022-23) earned her third career Olympic medal and first-ever individual medal, capturing the bronze medal on floor exercise with a score of 13.766.
ย
As the last competitor on the event, Chiles needed to beat the score of 13.700 by Romania's Ana Barbosu to win a medal. Chiles' combination of difficult tumbling, solid execution and her own personal flair brought her to an initial score of 13.666, .033 shy of a medal. However, Chiles' coaches submitted an inquiry on her score, believing she was not properly credited for her tour jeteยด full. Following the inquiry, Chiles' difficulty score was raised one-tenth from 5.8 to 5.9, moving her from fifth place into third place behind gold medal-winner Rebeca Andrade from Brazil (14.166) and silver medalist Simone Biles (14.133).ย
ย
Chiles, who also won team gold in 2024 and team silver in 2020, becomes the most decorated Olympic gymnast in UCLA women's gymnastics history with three total medals.
