No. 24 Swim & Dive Opens 2025 at UCSD-Wisconsin Tri-Meet

January 03, 2025 | Swimming & Diving

LOS ANGELES โ€“ The No. 24 UCLA swim and dive team returns to action this weekend with a tri-meet against UC San Diego and No. 12 Wisconsin at UC San Diego. The meet is set to get underway at 11 a.m. PT, with live results available on MeetMobile($).

The meet marks the Bruins' (1-0) second non-invitational meet of the season, and their first action since mid-December when the Bruins took first place at the FINIS UNLV Invitational.

Heading into Saturday's competition, UCLA boasts a winning record against UC San Diego at 5-0, and is 0-1 against new Big Ten foe Wisconsin.

Two of the squads in the three-team dual will be ranked heading into the meet as Wisconsin checks in at No. 12 while UCLA is listed at No. 24 in the latest College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) rankings.

UCLA has finished first in every competition it's entered so far this season except for one, winning the five-team Fresno State Invitational, before earning their lone dual meet win to date, beating Arizona, 189-106 on senior day at the Spieker Aquatics Center.

The Bruins followed those strong results with a fourth-place finish at the Ohio State Invitational. The field featured three squads ranked in the top 15 at the time of the meet, plus UCLA.

After the Ohio State Invitational, the Bruins went to Las Vegas for the FINIS UNLV Invitational. At the meet the Bruins finished the 2024 portion of the calendar strongly, taking first place in the six-team field. ย

The Bruins have had multiple standout performances throughout the fall portion of the season. 14 Bruins have earned NCAA "B' cut standards across 10 events.
