Dybdahl, Capelle Earn All-Freshman Honors at Big Ten Championships

EAST LANSING, Mich. โ UCLA competed at the 2025 Big Ten Cross Country Championships on Friday at Michigan State's Forest Akers East Golf Course, with the men racing to a ninth-place finish and the women coming in 12th.
The Bruins also had a pair of honorees on the Men's All-Freshman Team, as Andreas Dybdahl and Everett Capelle finished third and fourth, respectively, among all frosh racers on the men's side.
Dybdahl also paced all UCLA runners on Friday, clocking in at 23:58.7 on the 8k course. He was the final runner in the field to break the 24-minute mark. Capelle was the Bruins' No. 2 finisher on the men's side, completing the race in 24:08.9 to come in 28th. Next up was Kai Mitchell-Reiss, whose 24:28.7 was good for 54th place.
Jack Falkowski (24:35.9, 62nd) and Henry Coughlan (24:39.5, 66th) rounded out UCLA's scoring contingent.
The ninth-place result, out of 15 teams, represented a jump from UCLA's 12th-place finish in 2024, the squad's first-ever Big Ten Championships.
The Bruin women, meanwhile, were paced by Olivia Foody, who ran the 6k course in 21:04.7, good for 50th place. Foody was following up on All-Freshman performance at last year's league meet.
Foody was followed by freshman teammates Evie Marheineke (21:17.2, 59th) and Gabriella Peters (21:27.1, 66th), with the scoring group rounded out by upperclassmen Ailish Hawkins (21:40.6, 82nd) and Annika Salz (22:07.7, 109th).
Championship season continues with the NCAA West Regional on Friday, Nov. 14 in Sacramento, Calif. ย
