No. 4 Seed UCLA to Host Pepperdine Saturday in NCAA First Round

No. 17-ranked UCLA (11-5-3) has earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament and will host Pepperdine (11-6-2) in the first round on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 6pm at Wallis Annenberg Stadium.

The winner of the UCLA-Pepperdine match will advance to the second round to face the winner of No. 5 seed BYU (11-6-4) vs. Utah State (10-6-6). In the other half of the quadrant are No. 1 seed Stanford (16-1-2), No. 8 seed Alabama (11-8-1), Cal Poly (10-2-9) and Northwestern (9-4-7).

UCLA is making its 29th overall and 10th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have a 75-22-8 all-time NCAA record and have won two NCAA titles โ€“ in 2013 and 2022.

The Bruins ranks second nationally in goals against average (0.42) and have recorded 12 shutouts in 19 games. Goalkeeper Daphne Nakfoor ranks eighth in the nation with a 0.50 goals against average.

Pepperdine is making its third consecutive and 15th overall NCAA appearance. The Waves posted an 8-2-1 conference record to win the West Coast Conference for the second consecutive season. Pepperdine is led offensively by a pair of 20-point scorers in Julia Quinonez (26 points) and Tatum Wynalda (20 points).
