LOS ANGELESPhilip Naef, Shakir Nixon, and Sergi Solans Ormo of the UCLA men's soccer team have been selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. The honorees are recognized by the College Sports Communicators for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

This is the first time that all three Bruins have been named Academic-All District honorees.

Naef has been a central figure for the Bruins in 2025. The Denmark native set a new career-high in assists with 11 in 2025, and once again tallied four assists in a single game. He tallied those four assists in UCLA's 5-2 win over Rutgers, and then went on to record eight of his 11 assists on the year in UCLA's final six games of the season. In addition to his Academic All-District nod in 2025, Naef has also been named to the 2024 Fall Academic All-Big Ten team.

Nixon has been a standout on the field and in the classroom the last two seasons for the Bruins. The sophomore has made 37 appearances and 24 starts over his first two seasons in Westwood. Nixon tallied a career-high five assists on the season in 2025 and helped the Bruins win their first-ever Big Ten title in the squad's second year in the conference. Nixon recorded an assist in both the Big Ten Tournament semifinals and in the final, and was named to the All-Tournament team for his performance in the tournament.

Solans Ormo adds to an already impressive resume in 2025 with his Academic All-District award. The Lleida, Spain native tallied a team-high 16 goals on the season, including 12 goals in his final six matches of the season. Solans Ormo set a new program record in 2025 with three hat tricks in a single season, becoming the only Bruin in program history ever to accomplish that feat. Over his 19 appearances on the season Solans Ormo recorded a team-high 16 goals and six assists for 38 points. Solans Ormo currently sits tied for second nationally in total goals scored and tied for fourth in total points with 38.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
