No. 3 UCLA Hosts UCSB for Home Opener Thursday

LOS ANGELES – UCLA Women's Basketball (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) is set to host UC Santa Barbara (1-0, 0-0 Big West) Thursday for the Bruins' home opener.
 
Tip-off is set for 11:30 a.m. PT inside Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom Financial. Thursday's matchup will be UCLA's annual Field Trip Day, where the Bruins welcome local schools to attend the game.
 
Thursday's game will be broadcast to B1G+, with Bryan Fenley and Graham Metzker on the call.

MATCHUP HISTORY: vs. UC Santa Barbara
• The Bruins and Gauchos last met on Dec. 3, 2022, in Santa Barbara. UCLA came away with the victory, 68-57, despite scoring only four points in the first quarter. The Bruins surged from behind thanks to a 19-point outing (7-9 FG) from Charisma Osborne. Kiki Rice (14 PTS, 8 REB) and Gabriela Jaquez (12 PTS, 5 REB, 3 STL) combined for 26 points in the win.

• Senior Lauren Betts led all scorers with her 21 points (9-12 FG); the center collected four rebounds in the win.
• Senior Gabriela Jaquez nabbed UCLA's first double-double of the year, finishing with 15 points, 11 rebounds (4 OREB) and five assists. The guard had a steal and only one turnover in 33 minutes played.
• Four Bruins finished in double-digit scoring; Charlisse Leger-Walker had 12 points, five assists and a pair of steals without a turnover, and Kiki Rice added 10 points.
• UCLA assisted on 21 of its 32 made field goals; a trio of Bruins (Jaquez, Leger-Walker, Rice) had five assists apiece.
