Solans Ormo's hat trick is his second of the season, and the redshirt sophomore now has eight goals and two assists in his last three games played. Solans Ormo becomes the first Bruin since Milan Iloski in 2019 to have multiple hat tricks in a single season.
Solans Ormo now has 12 goals on the season, the most in a single season by a Bruin since Milan Iloski scored 17 goals in 2019. Philip Naef also recorded two assists on the night to bring his total to 10 on the year.
The Huskies almost went in front in the 22nd minute, but goalkeeper Kevin Box parried away the shot to keep the game scoreless.
UCLA opened the scoring in the 35th minute of action. Philip Naef picked up the ball on the right side of the Washington 18-yard box and whipped in a cross that fell to the feet of Sebastian Rincon. Rincon then setteled the ball down, slotted it to Solans Ormo, who whirled around and smashed the ball into the back of the net, giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead.
The Bruins' lead did not last long, however, as 90 seconds later, Washington's Charlie Kosakoff leveled the game off a Joe Dale assist, and the game was tied at 1-1.
The game would stay tied through the remainder of the first half before the Huskies edged in front in the 51st minute. Osato Enabulele got on the end of a Kosakoff cross to put the Huskies up 2-1.
The Huskies were reduced to 10 men in the 63rd minute. Kosakoff, already on a yellow card, committed a lunging tackle from behind on Oliver Roche, and for the tackle was given a second yellow card, reducing Washington to 10 players for the remainder of the night.
UCLA capitalized on the numbers advantage in the 75th minute when Solans Ormo recorded his second of the night. This time Schinieder Mimy provided the assist with a driven ball across the box that fell to Solans Ormo who buried it, tying the game at 2-2.
Three minutes later Roche put the Bruins in front with his fifth goal of the campaign. Konstantinos Georgallides picked up the ball at the top of the 18-yard box, found an on-rushing Roche, who buried the ball into the back of the net to put UCLA in front 3-2.
