
Women’s Rowing Adds Susanna Temming to Coaching Staff

LOS ANGELES – Susanna Temming is joining the UCLA Women's Rowing coaching staff, the program announced Wednesday.
"We're thrilled to welcome Susanna Temming to UCLA Rowing," said head coach Vanessa Tavalero. "Her outstanding collegiate career at Texas and her recent coaching experience at SMU have shaped her into an exceptional leader and technician. I'm excited for the energy, knowledge, and championship mindset she's bringing to our staff."
Temming most recently served as an assistant coach for SMU Rowing. A native of The Netherlands, she went to SMU after rowing at The University of Texas at Austin and spending one year as Assistant Coach at Texas Rowing Center.
At the University of Texas at Austin, Temming competed for four seasons and won two National Championships in the First Varsity Eight. Temming was also a nine-time member of the Big 12 Commissioners Honor Roll. She was a two-time recipient of Academic Provost Award (4.0 GPA For Semester), and was named a CRCA National Scholar Athlete twice.
While working in Austin, she assisted in the coaching of the High Performance Team. She also was the Assistant Coach for Junior Varsity Men and Advanced Masters leading to several athletes' success in national competitions. She served as Assistant Diversity Coordinator & Assistant Coach for Texas Rowing For All.
Temming graduated with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Educational Psychology in May of 2023.
She also competed with the Dutch National Rowing Team winning a Silver medal at the U23 World Rowing Championships in 2021, a Bronze medal at the U23 European Rowing Championships in 2020, and a Bronze medal at the U19 Junior World Rowing Championships in 2018. She is a four-time Dutch National Champion.
