Four Bruins Receive Big Ten Postseason Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. -ย Junior outside hitter Cheridyn Leverette, sophomore libero Lola Schumacher, and redshirt junior middle blocker Marianna Singletary of UCLA women's volleyball were named First Team All-Big Ten, announced Tuesday morning by conference officials. Sophomore setter Kate Duffey also received conference's Sportsmanship Award.

Coming off an All-American campaign in 2024, Leverette has earned First Team All-Big Ten honors for the second consecutive season. Schumacher and Singletary join her on the First Team, each collecting the distinction for the first time in their collegiate careers.ย

Leverette concludes the regular season as UCLA's leading scorer at 4.16 points-per-set, also leading the Bruins in kills-per-set (3.83), total kills (429), total points (465.5), and total attempts (1,095). The outside hitter ranked fifth in the conference for kills and seventh in kills-per-set. Leverette also excelled on the defensive end with 150 digs, 1.34 digs-per-set, and 36.0 total blocks. She tallied 26 double-digit kill performances, including four 20-plus-kill efforts in her senior campaign. In the Bruins' recent five-set win over Michigan, Leverette went for a season-high 25 kills while posting an efficient hitting percentage of .353. She is currently ranked 25thย all-time in the UCLA record books for career kills with 1,185 across her four seasons in Westwood.

Schumacher enjoyed an excellent debut season at UCLA, leading the Big Ten in both digs-per-set (4.37), and total digs (437). She was dependable at the libero position, posting 26 matches with double figure digs. In her 27 starts during the 2025 campaign, Schumacher reached double-digit digs in 26 of them. She eclipsed the 20-dig threshold seven times on the year, including three-straight 20-plus-dig efforts on Sept. 26 at Ohio St, Sept. 28 at Penn State, and Oct. 2 vs. Purdue. In the five-set win against Illinois on Nov. 20, Schumacher matched her career-high with 27 digs, sparking her run of 20-plus digs in three of her last four matches. She also managed to hand out 108 assists (1.04 assists-per-set) and notched six kills from the back row. Schumacher highlighted her season with two Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week awards (Sept. 29 and Dec. 1).

Singletary established herself as one of UCLA's most dependable two-way performers, closing the regular season as the Bruins' second-leading scorer with 3.11 points per set. The middle blocker paced all qualifying hitters with a .304 hitting percentage and ranked second on the team with 257 kills. Defensively, Singletary anchored UCLA's front line, averaging 1.29 blocks per set and totaling 146 blocks. She finished second in the Big Ten in total blocks and fifth in blocks per set. She showcased remarkable consistency with 11 double-digit kill outings, highlighted by a season-high 16 kills in the win over Washington on Nov. 2. On the other side of the net, she recorded 16 matches with five or more blocks, including a career-best 10 in the five-set victory against Illinois on Nov. 20.

Duffey handed out 993 assists sophomore season, reaching the 1,000-assist milestone on Nov. 22 against Washington. UCLA's setter also recorded nine double-doubles on the season.
