June 24, 2025 | Track & Field
Seven members of the UCLA track & field program have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's and Women's Track & Field teams, it was announced on Tuesday. The teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom.
The honored Bruins included pole vaulter Ka'Leila Abrille, distance runner Bennett Booth-Genthe, jumper/multis Sydney Johnson, distance runner Mia Kane, distance runner Parker Raymond, distance runner Rose Pittman, and hurdler Sonia Virk.
The Academic All-District honorees are now in consideration on the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on July 15.
Abrille earned Second Team All-America honors in the pole vault this year after finishing 12th at NCAAs. She tied for the lead at West Regionals with a PB mark of 4.42m (14-6), and was the fourth-place finisher at Outdoor Big Tens,
Booth-Genthe made a mark during his lone season in Westwood, running the No. 2 mile in school history (3:57.55) while also helping set a program record in the distance medley relay (9:28.70) during indoor season. He was a Regionals qualifier in the 800m.
Johnson was a two-time Second Team All-American this season after finishing 14th at NCAAs in both the long jump and heptathlon. She set a school record in the pentathlon (4,171) during indoor season, and turned in the No. 3 heptathlon in school history (5,820) en route to a third-place finish at Outdoor Big Tens.
Kane was the Bruins' top finisher on the women's side at Cross Country Regionals in the fall, and went on to qualify for Outdoor Regionals in the 3000m steeplechase.
Raymond, a grad transfer via Indiana, was also part of that school-record DMR and also debuted in both the indoor and outdoor top-10 lists in the 800m.
Pittman was a Regional Finalist in the 800m, notching two wins in that event over the course of outdoor season. She also finished top-10 in the 800m at UCLA's first-ever Big Ten Indoor Championships.
Virk, who was earlier this year named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award recipient, was a standout in the 400m hurdles this year for the Bruins, earning a bronze medal at Outdoor Big Tens and reached the Regional Final in the same event. She also helped the Bruins to a dual-meet win over crosstown rival USC, as she won the 400mH with a PB of 57.11.
