Bruin Freshmen Shine at U.S. Gymnastics Championships

New Orleans, La. - Four of UCLA's incoming freshmen concluded competition at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, with Ashlee Sullivan and Tiana Sumanasekera being selected to the U.S. National Team.
Sullivan earned an automatic national team slot after finishing in fourth place in the all-around with a two-day score of 107.950. She also captured third place on floor exercise (27.800) and eighth place on balance beam (27.100).ย
Sumanasekera was added to the national team after finishing in ninth place in the all-around (105.950). Her highest individual event finish was sixth place on balance beam (27.650).ย
For the third consecutive year, Nola Matthews was named the USA Gymnastics Sportsperson of the Year. She finished in 14th place in the all-around (103.900) and ninth on floor exercise (26.300). Jordis Eichman earned a podium finish with her eighth place showing on uneven bars (26.400). She finished in 18th overall (102.300).ย
The quartet will soon join the reigning Big Ten Champion Bruins for the 2026 season.ย
