Guichard Voted Big Ten Player of the Week to Start New Season

September 24, 2025 | Women's Tennis

ROSEMONT, Ill. โ€“ Ahmani Guichard of the UCLA women's tennis team earned her first career Big Ten Player of the Week award Wednesday, capping a successful start to the 2025-26 season for the junior.

A native of Seminole, Fla, Guichard won four of her five matches played across four days at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. She advanced out of prequalifying with three straight-set wins, including a 7-6(2), 7-6(6) result over standout Duke freshman Claire An in the round's finale.

Guichard's run was ultimately stopped by No. 72 Mia Slama of NC State in three sets to start qualifying, but the Bruin rebounded in consolation play with a top-100 victory against Rice's Divna Ratkovic.

This is UCLA's first Big Ten women's tennis weekly award of 2025-26 and the first of Guichard's career. The Bruns collected 11 weekly awards from the conference during the 2024-25 season, the program's first as a member.
