Four of the Top 5 teams in 2025 will face off on Saturday, Jan. 10 in Session 1 of the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad, as current No. 1 and 2025 national runner-up UCLA (3-0) faces defending NCAA champion Oklahoma (0-0), fourth-place Utah (2-0) and fifth-place LSU (0-0). The meet will take place at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah at 2pm MT/1pm PT and will be televised live on ABC. Each of the four teams were ranked in the Top 5 in the coaches' preseason poll, with Oklahoma No. 1, LSU No. 2, UCLA No. 4 and Utah No. 5.
Competing in Session 2 of the Collegiate Quad at 6pm MT/5pm PT are Michigan State, California, Kentucky and Michigan. That meet will be broadcast on ESPN2.
ROTATION ORDER
The Bruins will start the meet on uneven bars, then balance beam, floor exercise and vault. Oklahoma will have Olympic order, starting on vault. Utah will begin on balance beam, and LSU will start on floor exercise. Rotation order was determined by 2025 NCAA finish.
UCLA AT THIRD-STRAIGHT SPROUTS COLLEGIATE QUAD
This is the third consecutive year UCLA has participated in the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad, which began in 2024. This year's main session is a repeat of the inaugural event, which also took place in the Maverik Center. Oklahoma finished in first place with a 197.900. LSU edged out UCLA for second place, scoring 197.150 to the Bruins' 197.100. Utah was fourth with a 196.975. The 2025 event saw Oklahoma win the main session with a score of 197.950, defeating LSU (197.650), California (197.275) and Utah (196.800). UCLA won its session with a 197.550, topping Kentucky (196.500), Ohio State (196.425) and Arkansas (195.875).
LAST TIME OUT
UCLA began its season on Jan. 3 with a first-place finish at the Best of the West Quad in Seattle. The Bruins used a strong second half of the meet to surge ahead, finishing the meet with a 49.525 on balance beam that tied the school record for highest beam score in a season opener. California placed second with a score of 196.000, host Washington came in third place with a 195.625, and Oregon State finished in fourth with a 196.550. Senior Jordan Chiles dominated the competition, placing first on all four events and winning the all-around with a score of 39.725. Freshman Tiana Sumanasekera also had a strong showing, placing second on balance beam with a 9.950 and on floor exercise with a 9.850 in her collegiate debut.
BRUINS SWEEP BIG TEN WEEKLY AWARDS
UCLA swept the Big Ten Conference weekly gymnastics awards, as Jordan Chiles earned Gymnast of the Week honors, Ciena Alipio received Event Specialist of the Week acclaim, and Tiana Sumanasekera nabbed the Freshman of the Week award. The sweep is the conference's first since Minnesota took all three awards on Feb. 22, 2021. The Bruin trio played big roles in UCLA's season-opening win at the Best of the West Quad in Washington. UCLA recorded a final team score of 196.975, the highest in the nation in week one. The Bruins also tied a school record with the highest season-opening beam score in history, 49.525. Chiles dominated the competition, capturing the all-around with a 39.725 and placing first on all four events. She totaled 9.975 on balance beam, 9.925 on uneven bars and floor exercise and 9.900 on vault. Alipio anchored UCLA on balance beam for the first time in her career and scored 9.925 in her only counting routine of the meet. She also scored a personal-best 9.800 on floor exercise in an exhibition performance. Sumanasekera placed second on two events in her collegiate debut, scoring 9.950 on balance beam and 9.850 on floor exercise to finish behind Chiles. She also scored 9.800 on vault and earned a 9.850 in an uneven bars exhibition.

UCLA holds the No. 1 national ranking after week one, its first time holding the top spot since the end of the 2018 season, the Bruins' last NCAA championship. This is the first time the Bruins have ranked No. 1 in the regular season since week two of the 2013 season. UCLA is ranked No. 1 on beam, No. 3 on vault and bars and No. 4 on floor. Jordan Chiles is ranked No. 1 in the all-around, bars, beam and floor and No. 2 on vault. Tiana Sumanasekera ranks No. 2 on beam and No. 12 on floor. Ciena Alipio ranks No. 4 on beam. DANCING AND GYMNASTICS QUEEN
Fresh off a third-place showing on Season 34 of "Dancing with the Stars" this fall, Jordan Chiles continues to surge, kicking off her senior season on Jan. 3 with a show-stopping performance at the Best of the West Quad. Chiles placed first on all four events and won the all-around with a score of 39.725, UCLA's highest all-around score in a season opener since Kyla Ross also recorded that score in 2020. She enters the season's first national rankings at No. 1 in the all-around, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise and No. 2 on vault. Chiles captured her 12th career conference gymnast of the week award and seventh in the Big Ten after her season-opening performance.
Dancing with pro Ezra Sosa, Chiles became the first female gymnast to make the "Dancing with the Stars" finale since Laurie Hernandez in season 23 in 2016. Chiles competed on the show while simultaneously training for the 2026 gymnastics season and taking a full set of classes at UCLA. The two-time Olympian and 2024 gold medalist enters her senior year as a three-time NCAA Champion, 16-time All-American and reigning Big Ten floor exercise champion. Chiles has scored 11 perfect 10s in her career - six on floor exercise and five on uneven bars - and 23 9.975s. She holds career-highs of 10.0 on uneven bars and floor exercise, 9.975 on vault and balance beam and 39.900 in the all-around.
ALIPIO TAKES LEAP TO THREE EVENTS
After competing exclusively on balance beam her first three seasons due to injuries, senior Ciena Alipio has made the leap to becoming a multi-event gymnast, adding strong uneven bars and floor exercise routines for 2026. In the season opener, Alipio anchored the beam lineup for the first time in her career and scored 9.925 to place third en route to her first-ever Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week honor. She also exhibitioned on floor exercise and scored a personal-best 9.800. Alipio is a two-time first-team All-American on beam and won the Big Ten balance beam title in 2025 with her first career perfect 10. Prior to her senior season, the only other non-beam routine that she had performed in college came in an exhibition on floor exercise in the 2025 season opener. As an elite gymnast, Alipio placed third in the all-around at her last international event, the 2022 Arthur Gander Memorial in Switzerland. She was also ninth in the all-around and sixth on floor exercise at the 2022 U.S. Classic.
SUPERB DEBUT BY SUMANASEKERA
Freshman Tiana Sumanasekera's collegiate debut was superb, as the five-time U.S. National Team member and 2024 Olympic alternate scored 9.950 on balance beam and 9.850 on floor exercise to place second behind only teammate Jordan Chiles on those two events. Sumanasekera also scored 9.800 on vault and 9.850 in an exhibition uneven bars routine. Her beam score of 9.950 was the highest by a UCLA freshman in her collegiate debut in over 20 years, matching Tasha Schiwkert in 2005. Sumanasekera became the first Bruin ever to win BIg Ten Freshman of the Week honors with her season-opening performance.
EXHIBITION PERFORMANCES SHOWCASE BRUIN DEPTH
UCLA's depth was on full display in the season opener, as the Bruins hit 24-for-24 in competition and also saw five of seven exhibition routines score 9.800 or higher. On uneven bars, both Tiana Sumanasekera and Madisyn Anyimi scored 9.850, which would have tied for fourth place in the meet. On balance beam, freshmen Jordis Eichman and Ashlee Sullivan each scored 9.825. Ciena Alipio earned a 9.800 on floor exercise, equaling a Top 7 score in the meet.
FABULOUS FRESHMEN
UCLA's acclaimed freshman class accounted for nine of the Bruins' 24 routines and four exhibition routines in the season opener. Olympic alternate Tiana Sumanasekera contributed three 9.8+ scores, including second-place marks of 9.950 on beam and 9.850 on floor. She also exhibitioned on bars and scored 9.850. Had her bars score counted, she would have totaled 39.450 in the all-around. Ashlee Sullivan, fresh off a win at the Arthur Gander Memorial in November, also competed on three events and exhibitioned on one. Sullivan's high mark came on uneven bars, where she tied for fourth place with a 9.850. She also added a 9.825 on vault, 9.775 on floor and a 9.825 on an exhibition beam routine. Four-time U.S. National Team member Nola Matthews posted a high of 9.850 on beam and added a 9.800 on bars and 9.700 on floor, along with a 9.700 exhibition vault. Additionally, Jordis Eichman, who competed at the 2025 U.S. Championships, turned in a strong 9.825 on balance beam in an exhibition performance.
ROSEN RETURNS TO ALL-AROUND
Junior Katelyn Rosen has returned to all-around duty for the first time since the 2024 Pac-12 Championships. Rosen scored a career-high 39.550 at those Pac-12 Championships but missed nearly two months of competition in 2025 and did not compete on vault during the season. She earned an all-around spot in the 2026 season opener, competing in the leadoff position on bars, beam and floor. Her top score was 9.825 on beam, and she also added a 9.800 on vault, 9.775 on bars and 9.675 on floor for an all-around total of 39.075. Rosen's career average in the all-around is 39.3906, and she has hit 39+ in all eight all-around attempts.
MIKA MONEY
Sophomore Mika Webster-Longin continues to provide solid consistency for the Bruins, contributing three 9.8+ scores last weekend. She tied for fourth place on both bars and floor with scores of 9.850 and 9.825, respectively, and added a 9.800 on beam. Webster-Longin's career average is 9.8 or higher on three events - 9.8462 on bars, 9.8143 on floor and 9.8 on beam, and she holds career-highs of 9.925 on vault and bars, 9.9 on floor and 9.8 on beam. The Belgian National Team member had a strong freshman season, being selected to the Big Ten All-Championship team after contributing a 9.925 on vault and 9.900 on bars to the Bruins' title run.
SENIOR STRIDES FROM ANYIMI
Madisyn Anyimi has had a strong start to her senior season, earning a spot in the Bruins' vault lineup in the season opener and recording a seventh-place finish with a 9.800. She currently ranks No. 20 in the nation on vault. Additionally, she hit a huge 9.850 on uneven bars in an exhibition performance, tying her career-high mark on the event. Anyimi enrolled at UCLA before walking onto the team in the 2023 season and has competed in 18 meets in her career, mostly on vault. She has hit all 21 routines she has competed, with highs of 9.85 on bars in 2024, 9.825 on vault in 2023 and 9.625 in her one floor appearance in 2023. Anyimi is a three-time WCGA Scholastic All-American, 2025 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award-winner and 2025 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar.
BARROS RAISES THE BAR
Junior Sydney Barros, who missed all of 2024 while rehabbing a knee injury, is working her way into the Bruin lineup, stepping in as a late sub on uneven bars in the season opener and scoring a career-high 9.800. Barros has four exhibition performances on both bars and floor under her belt but has only been in the competitive lineup twice. She has personal-best marks of 9.825 on each event in exhibition. Barros was the all-around champion at the 2023 Puerto Rican National Championships and placed eighth in the all-around at the 2023 Pan American Championships, qualifying to the World Championships. She was unable to compete at Worlds, however, after suffering a knee injury at the Central American Games.

INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS
The Bruin roster is filled with gymnasts who have not only represented their countries in international competition but won multiple medals. Jordan Chiles is a two-time Olympian and three-time medalist, winning team gold in 2024. She also won three medals at the 2023 World Championships, taking team gold and vault and floor exercise silver. Ciena Alipio placed third in the all-around at the 2021 Arthur Gander Memorial in Switzerland and won team and balance beam silver and vault bronze at the 2019 Jesolo Trophy in Italy. Lauren Little won silver on vault at the 2018 International Gymnix Challenge Cup. Nola Matthews won gold on uneven bars and with the U.S. team at the 2023 Pan American Championships and uneven bars and floor exercise gold at the 2025 Varna World Challenge Cup. Ashlee Sullivan won the all-around at the 2025 Arthur Gander Memorial and team gold at the 2025 DTB Mixed Cup and also has team gold at the 2022 and 2023 DTB Pokal Cups. Tiana Sumanasekera has totaled eight gold medals at the Pan American Championships, five gold medals at the City of Jesolo Trophy in 2022 and team gold at the 2023 Pan American Games. Additionally, Sydney Barros qualified for the 2023 World Championships for Puerto Rico and placed eighth in the all-around at the 2023 Pan American Championships, and Mika Webster-Longin competed with Belgium at the 2024 European Championships.
SCHOLAR-ATHLETES
Six returners and a program-record 13 Bruins overall earned WCGA Scholastic All-America honors in 2025. Senior Madisyn Anyimi (applied mathematics) and graduate Carissa Clay (education) received their third Scholastic All-America distinctions, while junior Katelyn Rosen (communication) earned her second. Freshmen Sasha Fujisaka (physiological science), Riley Jenkins (psychology) and Mika Webster-Longin (history) each earned their first honors. The WCGA Scholastic All-America team recognizes gymnasts who carry a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average or a 3.5 grade point average for the academic year. UCLA also set a new program record with 11 academic all-conference honorees, with Ciena Alipio (sociology) joining Anyimi and Rosen as returning Bruins to receive distinction.

Her top score was 9.825 on beam, and she also added a 9.800 on vault, 9.775 on bars and 9.675 on floor for an all-around total of 39.075. Rosen's career average in the all-around is 39.3906, and she has hit 39+ in all eight all-around attempts.
MIKA MONEY
Sophomore Mika Webster-Longin continues to provide solid consistency for the Bruins, contributing three 9.8+ scores last weekend. She tied for fourth place on both bars and floor with scores of 9.850 and 9.825, respectively, and added a 9.800 on beam. Webster-Longin's career average is 9.8 or higher on three events - 9.8462 on bars, 9.8143 on floor and 9.8 on beam, and she holds career-highs of 9.925 on vault and bars, 9.9 on floor and 9.8 on beam. The Belgian National Team member had a strong freshman season, being selected to the Big Ten All-Championship team after contributing a 9.925 on vault and 9.900 on bars to the Bruins' title run.
SENIOR STRIDES FROM ANYIMI
Madisyn Anyimi has had a strong start to her senior season, earning a spot in the Bruins' vault lineup in the season opener and recording a seventh-place finish with a 9.800. She currently ranks No. 20 in the nation on vault. Additionally, she hit a huge 9.850 on uneven bars in an exhibition performance, tying her career-high mark on the event. Anyimi enrolled at UCLA before walking onto the team in the 2023 season and has competed in 18 meets in her career, mostly on vault. She has hit all 21 routines she has competed, with highs of 9.85 on bars in 2024, 9.825 on vault in 2023 and 9.625 in her one floor appearance in 2023. Anyimi is a three-time WCGA Scholastic All-American, 2025 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award-winner and 2025 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar.
BARROS RAISES THE BAR
Junior Sydney Barros, who missed all of 2024 while rehabbing a knee injury, is working her way into the Bruin lineup, stepping in as a late sub on uneven bars in the season opener and scoring a career-high 9.800. Barros has four exhibition performances on both bars and floor under her belt but has only been in the competitive lineup twice. She has personal-best marks of 9.825 on each event in exhibition. Barros was the all-around champion at the 2023 Puerto Rican National Championships and placed eighth in the all-around at the 2023 Pan American Championships, qualifying to the World Championships. She was unable to compete at Worlds, however, after suffering a knee injury at the Central American Games.
ABOUT THE BRUINS
UCLA returns three-time NCAA Champion Jordan Chiles, All-American and Big Ten beam champion Ciena Alipio, all-conference performers Katelyn Rosen and Macy McGowan, and Big Ten All-Championships team member Mika Webster-Longin while welcoming U.S. National Team members in freshmen Nola Matthews, Ashlee Sullivan and Tiana Sumanasekera. The Bruins, under the direction of 2025 Big Ten Coach of the Year Janelle McDonald, are coming off a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships and an unbeaten Big Ten Conference season, complete with sweeps of the regular season and Conference Championship titles.
INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS
The Bruin roster is filled with gymnasts who have not only represented their countries in international competition but won multiple medals. Jordan Chiles is a two-time Olympian and three-time medalist, winning team gold in 2024. She also won three medals at the 2023 World Championships, taking team gold and vault and floor exercise silver. Ciena Alipio placed third in the all-around at the 2021 Arthur Gander Memorial in Switzerland and won team and balance beam silver and vault bronze at the 2019 Jesolo Trophy in Italy. Lauren Little won silver on vault at the 2018 International Gymnix Challenge Cup. Nola Matthews won gold on uneven bars and with the U.S. team at the 2023 Pan American Championships and uneven bars and floor exercise gold at the 2025 Varna World Challenge Cup. Ashlee Sullivan won the all-around at the 2025 Arthur Gander Memorial and team gold at the 2025 DTB Mixed Cup and also has team gold at the 2022 and 2023 DTB Pokal Cups. Tiana Sumanasekera has totaled eight gold medals at the Pan American Championships, five gold medals at the City of Jesolo Trophy in 2022 and team gold at the 2023 Pan American Games. Additionally, Sydney Barros qualified for the 2023 World Championships for Puerto Rico and placed eighth in the all-around at the 2023 Pan American Championships, and Mika Webster-Longin competed with Belgium at the 2024 European Championships.
SCHOLAR-ATHLETES
Six returners and a program-record 13 Bruins overall earned WCGA Scholastic All-America honors in 2025. Senior Madisyn Anyimi (applied mathematics) and graduate Carissa Clay (education) received their third Scholastic All-America distinctions, while junior Katelyn Rosen (communication) earned her second. Freshmen Sasha Fujisaka (physiological science), Riley Jenkins (psychology) and Mika Webster-Longin (history) each earned their first honors. The WCGA Scholastic All-America team recognizes gymnasts who carry a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average or a 3.5 grade point average for the academic year. UCLA also set a new program record with 11 academic all-conference honorees, with Ciena Alipio (sociology) joining Anyimi and Rosen as returning Bruins to receive distinction.
