Men's Basketball Falls at No. 15 Michigan State, 82-59

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The UCLA men's basketball team fell at No. 15 Michigan State, 82-59, in a Big Ten Conference game at the Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State on Tuesday night.
Michigan State (21-5, 11-4 Big Ten) outscored the Bruins by a 39-36 margin in the second half after having led 43-23 at the intermission. Four players for the Spartans scored in double figures, led by Jeremy Fears Jr. and Coen Carr with 16 points each.
MSU made 14 three-pointers and shot 53 percent overall from the field (29-for-55), as UCLA dropped its second straight game. The Bruins shot 37 percent from the field (21-for-57), and recorded eight 3-pointers on the night.
UCLA (17-9, 9-6 Big Ten) trailed by a 50-32 margin with 15:41 to play after Tyler Bilodeau scored seven quick points before Michigan State ran out 82-59 winners on Tuesday night.
Bilodeau opened the second half strongly for the Bruins, connecting on four of his first five shots in the second half. Bilodeau finished the night with 22 points, including three 3-pointers.
In addition to Bilodeau's game-high 22 points, Skyy Clark added 12 points for UCLA.
UCLA trailed 43-23 at the halftime break.
Michigan State utilized a 20-3 run to take a 27-12 lead with just over 8 minutes to play in the opening half. The Spartans then took a 43-23 lead at the halftime break.
In the opening half, the Spartans shot 58% from the field and limited the Bruins to 32% from the field. Fears Jr. led all scorers with 11 points and three 3-pointers in the opening half.
The Bruins will return to Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom Financial on Saturday evening. UCLA will host No. 10 Illinois on Saturday at 5 pm PT, with the game being broadcast nationally on FOX.
