No. 14 Women's Golf Finishes Third at Bruin Wave Invitational Presented by Capillus

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The No. 14-ranked UCLA women's golf program finished the Bruin Wave Invitational presented by Capillus on Tuesday in third place overall as a team.
Stanford took the team title at -21, 843, Pepperdine finished in second at +1, 865, and the Bruins rounded out the top three at +2, 865 over the three-round tournament.
Kacey Ly was the top Bruin finisher and finished in a tie for fourth overall at -4, 212. Stanford's Paula Martin Sampedro won the individual title with a score of -7, 209.
Over the course of the three-round tournament, the Bruins tallied the second-most birdies of any of the 14 teams in the field, compiling 52 birdies throughout.
On the final day, the Bruins shot +9, 297 as a team, and finished in third place overall with a team score of +2, 866, just one stroke off No. 8 Pepperdine, which finished at +1, 865 for the tournament.
Ly continued her sophomore campaign with another top-5 finish, as she carded +3, 75 on Tuesday.
Angela Liu and Meghan Royal tallied the low scores of the day for the Bruins, each shooting +1, 73. Maye Huang, who was competing as an individual this week, shot a team-low -3, 69 on the final day of competition, to finish in a tie for 14th overall in the individual competition.

Day One Recap
The No. 14-ranked UCLA women's golf program opened the Bruin Wave Invitational on Monday and currently sits in second place at -7 overall, while Stanford leads at -15 for the tournament.
Kacey Ly sits in a tie with Paula Martin Sampedro from Stanford at -7 after two rounds of play to lead the individual standings.
UCLA shot -7, 569 over 36 holes on day one of the tournament. The Bruins head into tomorrow's final round eight strokes behind Stanford.
Over the course of the opening day of the tournament, the Bruins recorded 41 birdies, the most of any team in the tournament.
The Bruins combined for a team score of 296 over the first 18 holes of the day, as Ly paced the Bruins with a 2-under 70.
Ly shot a -2, 70 over the course of the first round, carding six birdies and four bogeys throughout the round. Jennifer Seo added a -1, 71 in the first round, UCLA's second-best round of the first round.
As for the second round on Monday, the Bruins came out and rebounded with a -15, 273 over the second 18 holes of the day. Meghan Royal, Jen Lee, and Ly all shot under par, while Royal and Ly both tallied eagles over that span.
Lee lead the way in the second round, carding a -6, 66, Ly finished -5 in the second round with a score of 67, and Royal went -4, 68 in the second round.
