Lee, Ly Earn Weekly Big Ten Honors
February 05, 2026 | Women's Golf
ROSEMONT, Ill – The No. 11-ranked UCLA women's golf team swept the Big Ten weekly awards, as Jenny Lee was named Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week and Kacey Ly was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Thursday.
This marks the second career weekly honor for Lee and the first for Ly.
Lee and Ly were instrumental in helping the Bruins win their first tournament of the 2025-26 season at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club on Tuesday. UCLA won the event with a comfortable 11-stroke margin, ousting six top-25 programs in the process.
Lee led the team, finishing in a tie for first through 54 holes at -5 (69-69-70) before losing the individual medal on the second playoff hole. Her -5, 208 matched the lowest 54-hole score of her career previously set in her medalist performance last fall at the Windy City Collegiate Classic. Lee's performance marked her third top-20 result of the season and second time finishing first or in a tie for first through regulation.
Ly registered career bests across the board with her fourth-place finish in Palos Verdes, shooting -3 (74-69-67) with her first two sub-70 scores as a Bruin. The result was marked her first top-10 and top-20 finish. Ly closed the tournament by recording UCLA's lowest 18-hole score of the event with a -4, 67 in the third round.
UCLA returns to action at the Alice and John Wallace Classic on Feb. 14-16 at Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
