Winter Academic All-Big Ten Team Includes 41 Bruins

LOS ANGELES — This winter, 41 UCLA student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday. The sports included are men's and women's basketball, women's gymnastics, and women's swimming and diving.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team (as verified by being on the official squad list as of March 1 for winter sports), have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The UCLA women's swimming and diving team led the way with 21 student-athletes recognized, gymnastics had seven selections, women's basketball added seven honorees, and men's basketball earned six honorees.
