Men's Golf to Compete This Week in Northern California

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's golf team will compete this week at The Desimone Invitational, hosted at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, Calif., on Monday and Tuesday.
The 54-hole stroke play tournament will take place on Monday, March 9, and Tuesday, March 10, with two rounds scheduled for Monday at Lake Merced Golf Club. Fans will be able to track scoring at the upcoming tournament at Scoreboard.
The two-day tournament in Northern California will feature 15 collegiate programs, with 10 of those teams currently ranked among the top 40 in the weekly Scoreboard rankings (full rankings here).
In all, this year's field includes – in alphabetical order – (26) Arizona, (9) Arizona State, (72) California, (52) Loyola Marymount, (10) Pepperdine, (83) San Jose State, (62) Southern Methodist, (4) Texas, (39) Texas Christian, (33) UCLA, (25) USC, (24) Utah, (27) Wake Forest, (32) Washington and (74) Washington State.
This will mark the fourth of seven spring golf tournaments for UCLA (including the season-culminating Big Ten Tournament). Most recently, the Bruins finished in a three-way tie for 12th place at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas from March 1-3. UCLA shot 22-over 886 at the 54-hole tournament, tied with San Diego State and South Carolina (15 teams, in total, competed at the tournament).
Prior to competing in Las Vegas earlier this month, UCLA finished in 14th place among 20 teams at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate (Feb. 5-7), played on the big island of Hawai'i.
