No. 15 Women’s Golf Leads After Day One at Huntington Bank Collegiate

DALLAS – The No. 15 UCLA women's golf team (-17, 559) is in first place after shooting 281-278 in the first two rounds of the Huntington Bank Collegiate at Trinity Forest Golf Club on Monday.
The Bruins hold a one-shot lead on Oklahoma State (-16, 560). Freshman Kacey Ly (-8) leads a group of four UCLA golfers within the top-20, sitting in a tie for second place in the field of 91. Ly carded the lowest 18-hole score of her young career in round two with a 6-under 66. She recorded an eagle on the par-5 10th hole in each of her two rounds.
Ly, who has three fourth-place finishes under her belt already this spring, trails Oklahoma State's Marta Silchenko (-9) by one stroke.
Sophomore Jen Lee (-4) is also situated in the top-10, tying for ninth after the first 36 holes. She closed out round one with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 17 and 18 to get to under par at 1-under, 71. Lee then recorded a stretch of three straight birdies on Nos. 5-7 in round two.
Freshman GaEun Athena (-3), making her third collegiate start, is tied for 12th with back-to-back under-par scores of 70-71. She entered the tournament with only one under-par round this season, coming in her first career round at the Pan Pacific University Super League Tournament in September 2025.
Senior Meghan Royal (-2) is tied for 14th with two solid rounds of 70-72.
