Junior Ben Francisco (Anaheim, Calif./Servite HS) of the UCLA Baseball Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3.
In the first week of play for the baseball team, Francisco hit .562 with a hit in all four games. He has two doubles and nine RBI with no strikeouts and a slugging percentage of 1.062.
On Sunday against Gonzaga, he went 4-for-4 with two home runs (a two-run homer and a grand slam), six RBI and four runs scored.
On Saturday against the Bulldogs, he was 3-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base. And in the season opener against UC Irvine, he had a two-RBI double.
This is Francisco's first UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week honor of his career.
