Seth Gilmore serves as the Director of HR Operations for UCLAโs Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA), where he oversees the comprehensive employment lifecycle, compensation, and payroll management for all of its employees. With a dedication to operational excellence and compliance, Seth oversees various stages of the employment lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to ongoing support and offboarding, ensuring that all processes align with departmental, university, and regulatory standards.
Seth joined UCLA Athletics in 2015 and advanced through progressively senior HR and payroll roles before his current appointment as Director in 2023. In this capacity, he drives human resources strategy, develops process enhancements to meet department objectives, and directly supervises a skilled team of HR professionals. Sethโs focus on stakeholder collaboration and policy alignment has helped maintain UCLAโs standard of operational integrity and adherence to NCAA and university guidelines.
Seth holds an MBA from California State University, Northridge, complementing his extensive experience in human resources, payroll systems, and staff management. His background includes leadership roles within UCLAโs HR systems and operational compliance, as well as prior experience at Costco Wholesale in supervisory positions, bringing a versatile and pragmatic approach to his work at UCLA Athletics.
