UCLA Women's Water Polo Sinks Both UCSD and UCSB

Honolulu, HI - The third- ranked UCLA women's water polo team kicked off the 2000 season on a high note, cruising past No. 12 UC San Diego and No. 6 UC Santa Barbara at the Rainbow Wahine Challenge.
On Friday, UCLA routed UC San Diego 16-4. Ten different players registered points for UCLA, while sophomore Elaine Zivich paced the Bruins with three goals.
On Saturday, the story was much the same, as UCLA defeated UC Santa Barbara with an identical score of 16-4. Nine Bruins put points on the scoreboard, while newcomer Jessica Lopez led all scorers with four goals.
Following its match against UC Santa Barbara, UCLA has less than nine hours to prepare for their final game in Hawai'i. The Bruins will face off against the host No. 8 Hawai'i Wahine at 6:30 pm, Hawai'i time.
