Sophomore Charlotte Mayorkas (Chula Vista, CA/Hilltop HS) of the UCLA Women's Golf Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 31-Apr. 6.
Mayorkas won her first collegiate tournament, placing first at the ASU Invitational with scores of 66-71-72<209, seven-under="" par,="" and="" leading="" the="" bruins="" to="" a="" third-place="" finish.="" mayorkas'="" seven-under="" par="" score="" of="" 209="" is="" the="" lowest="" 54-hole="" individual="" total="" in="" school="" history,="" and="" her="" 66="" (six-under="" par)="" in="" the="" first="" round="" is="" the="" lowest="" individual="" round="" by="" a="" ucla="" player="" this="" year="" and="" a="" career="" best.="">
Her first-place finish extends her streak of Top 10 finishes to five straight, and she currently leads the team with one tournament victory, five Top 10 finishes, six Top 20 finishes, five rounds under par and two rounds under 70. Her stroke average of 73.5 leads the team, and she has posted a stroke average of 72.5 during the Winter and Spring quarters (14 rounds).
This is Mayorkas' first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
